Gā-aisib tsî gâresib
1 Gā-aisib ge oms âba ge om tsî hû ǂgurihaiga ǁîs ǃaroma ge mâi. 2 ǁÎb ge ǁâudīb ǃaroma ǂāxū-e ǂā, ǂauxûi-e haba tsî tāb âba ge aiǂhomi. 3 ǁÎb ǃgādeb ge ǃās ǃnâ ge sîǂui tsî di ge ǁîde ǀgapi ǃkhaiga xu gere ǃhao: 4 “Nēpa ǀkhī, sadu xūtama khoedo!” ǁNān ǁnâuǃāoǃnân ǃoab ge ra mî: 5 “Hā, î ti ǂû-i tsî aiǂhomi ta go ǂauxûi-i tsîna tita ǀkha hā amǃnâxa. 6 Gâresiba ǁguiǁnâ, î ûi tsî ǁnâuǃāxa daoba sao.”
7 ǃKhāǃkhā-ao-e ga mî-unuba ǂgao khoe-i ge mîǁgaiǁgaihesa nî ǃâubasen; ǂkhabadī-ao-e ga ǂgōǀau-i hoa-i ge nî tsûtsûhe. 8 ǃHō-ao-ets ga ǂgōǀau, o-i ge ǁî-e nî ǁkhan tsi; gā-ai-ets ga ǂgōǀau, o-i ge ǁî-e nî ǀnam tsi. 9 Gā-ai khoe-ets ga ǁgauǃnâ, o-i ge ǁî-e ǃaruǀî ǀgui nî gā-ai; ǂhanu-ai khoe-ets ga ǁkhāǁkhā, o-i ge ǂans ǃnâ nî ǀaro.
10 ǃKhūba ǃaoǃgâs ge ǂans di tsoatsoasa tsî ǃAnub di ǂans ge ǁnâuǃāba hōsa. 11 Tita ǃaroma di ge sa tsēde nî ǂguiǂguihe, tsî gu ge ûikurigu âtsa nî ǀarohe. 12 Gā-aisibats ga ūhâ, ots ge sa ǃgâib ǃaroma a gā-ai; xawets ga ǃkhāǃkhā-ao, os ge ǁnāsa sa tsâb ase nî ī.
13 Gâresib ge ǂkhupixa tarekhoes khami ī; ǁîs ge ǁnâuǃāoǃnâ tsî tao-oǃnâ khoesa. 14 ǁÎs ge oms âs di dao-ams tawa ra ǂnû, ǃās di ǀgapi ǃkhaigu ai hâ ǂnû-ai ǃkhaidi ai. 15 ǁÎs ge ǁîs tawa ra ǃkharun, ǁîn daogu ai garuna ra ǂgai: 16 “Hā, sadu ǂan-e ūhâ tama do!” ǁNān ǁnâuǃāoǃnân ǃoas ge ra mî: 17 “ǃNarihe hâ ǁgam-i ge ra ǁkhoa; ǃnarisa ǂû-i ge a ǁkhoaxa.” 18 Xawen ge ǁîna ǁōb ǁnāpa hâ ǃkhaisa a ǀū; ǁîs ǁkhausaben ǃgamse ǁŌhân Hâǃkhaib ǃnâ hâsa.
Wisdom Gives a Feast
1 Wisdom has built her house
with its seven columns.
2 She has prepared the meat
and set out the wine.
Her feast is ready.
3 She has sent her servant women
to announce her invitation
from the highest hills:
4 “Everyone who is ignorant
or foolish is invited!
5 All of you are welcome
to my meat and wine.
6 If you want to live,
give up your foolishness
and let understanding
guide your steps.”
True Wisdom
7 Correct a worthless bragger,
and all you will get
are insults and injuries.
8 Any bragger you correct
will only hate you.
But if you correct someone
who has common sense,
you will be loved.
9 If you have good sense,
instruction will help you
to have even better sense.
And if you live right,
education will help you
to know even more.
10 Respect and obey the Lord!
This is the beginning
of wisdom.
To have understanding,
you must know the Holy God.
11 I am Wisdom. If you follow me,
you will live a long time.
12 Good sense is good for you,
but if you brag,
you hurt yourself.
A Foolish Invitation
13 Stupidity is reckless,
senseless, and foolish.
14 She sits in front of her house
and on the highest hills
in the town.
15 She shouts to everyone
who passes by,
16 “If you are stupid,
come on inside!”
And to every fool she says,
17 “Stolen water tastes best,
and the food you eat in secret
tastes best of all.”
18 None who listen to Stupidity
understand that her guests
are as good as dead.
