Ehungi oritjatatu ra Elihu
1 Elihu wa hungira komurungu a tja:
2 “Kasemba, Job, okutja nao aruhe
kutja oove omuhinandjo
komurungu wa Ndjambi,
3 poo okupura Ndjambi nai:
‘Ourunde wandje mau ṱunu vi kove?
Ami mba munina po tjike
mokuhinakutura ondjo?’
4 Ami me ku ziri, nga komapanga woye wina.
5 “Tara kevaverwa! Muna ovikamba tji
vi ri kokure kombanda yoye!
6 Ove tji wa tjiti ourunde,
oko kaku hihamisa Ndjambi,
nu ozondataiziro zoye tjiza takavara,
maku ṱunu ku ye are?
7 Okuhinokutura ondjo kwoye ku yandja
ombatero ya tjike ku Ndjambi?
Kape notjiṋa Ndjambi tji ma hepa kove!
8 Kako! Ourunde woye u hihamisa
omundu tjimuna ove nao,
nu noho ouwa mbu mo tjiti
mau vatere ovandu varwe.
9 “Ovandu tji mave ṋiṋikiziwa
i ovanauvara, owo ve tjema,
ve ura ku umwe kutja e ve vatere.
10 Nungwari owo kave paha Ndjambi,
Omuute wawo,
ngu ve pa omaundjiro mozoiri zonḓorera.
11 Owo kave kotoka ku Ndjambi
ngwe tu tjita ozonongo,
ozonongo tjinene povipuka nozonḓera.
12 Owo ve kwa ombatero,
nungwari Ndjambi ka ziri,
owo tjinga averi overitongamise novanauvi.
13 Okurira kwawo omungandjo uriri,
tjinga Ndjambi Omunamasaaehe
ehi nokuvezuva nokuvemuna.
14 “Job, ove u tja ko munu Ndjambi,
nungwari u undja ku ye nomuretima,
notjiposa tjoye tji ri komurungu we.
15 Ove mo tjangovasi Ndjambi
ke nokusora okuvera,
nokutja eye ke na ko na tja nouvi.
16 Omungandjo kove okuhungira
komurungu omambo
omengi ngu mo hungire,
motjimbe tjokutja ko nokutjiwa
kutja mo hungire tjike.”
1-2 It is not right, Job, for you to say
that you are innocent in God's sight,
3 or to ask God, “How does my sin affect you?
What have I gained by not sinning?”
4 I am going to answer you and your friends too.
5 Look at the sky! See how high the clouds are!
6 If you sin, that does no harm to God.
If you do wrong many times, does that affect him?
7 Do you help God by being so righteous?
There is nothing God needs from you.
8 Others suffer from your sins,
and the good you do helps them.
9 When people are oppressed, they groan;
they cry for someone to save them.
10 But they don't turn to God, their Creator,
who gives them hope in their darkest hours.
11 They don't turn to God, who makes us wise,
wiser than any animal or bird.
12 They cry for help, but God doesn't answer,
for they are proud and evil.
13 It is useless for them to cry out;
Almighty God does not see or hear them.
14 Job, you say you can't see God;
but wait patiently—your case is before him.
15 You think that God does not punish,
that he pays little attention to sin.
16 It is useless for you to go on talking;
it is clear you don't know what you are saying.
